DIY: Coloured Pencil Nub Pendant

How do you like these pencil nub pendants? It's something I've been wanting to try out for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally did it! They're quite easy to make too, which is a bonus. Want to make some youself? Instrucitons after the jump!

So, the supplies you'll need are:
+ A pencil/ pencil nub
+ Some sandpaper
+ Some fine wire
+ Some PolyCement, super glue or a hot glue gun
+ Some BluTack

Firstly, if you're working with a whole pencil, snap it off to the length you'd like your pendant to be.

Next, sand the rough, broken end of your pencil down until it's nice and smooth...

Now, if your pencil's looking a little blunt, give it a good sharpening!

Finally, wrap your piece of fine wire around your pencil nub three or so times...

... Then bend it into a shape that will allow it to be hung off a necklace, like this:

Finally, secure the wire with some PolyCement or other strong glue.

It might also be a good idea to stuck the pendant in some BluTack while it dries to ensure it doesn't get knocked, like this:

Now your pencil nub pendant is all ready to wear! Experiment with different pencil colours and lengths, or stack them all up into one necklace for a eclectic feel.
