DIY: Chain Peter Pan Collar Necklace

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while- it's been a pretty hectic week for me. Anyhow, here's my latesy DIY- a peter pan collar necklace! These bib- style collars have been "in" for a while now, which is why I like these kind of chain necklaces- same trend, new twist.

Another great thing about them is that they're quite versatile, and can look quite sophisticated along with the right clothes. And you don't necessarily have to wear it with a high- necked top- trust me, this will save you alot of rifling through your wardrobe!

Well, here's the DIY- I hope you enjoy it! Click through to have a peek.

Supplies:

+ 84cm of chain
+ 5 jump rings
+ A clasp
+ Some pliers
+ A tailor's measuring tape

Ok, so before I start to recite the actual DIY, here's a diagram I drew up that highlights the main measurements of the necklace. If you're more of the steal- the- idea, don't- bother- reading- the- actual- DIY person (like me!), you should be able to work your way through without too much error based on this:

Read read the step- by- step instructions? Here goes. Firstly, you'll need to cut your chain into 3 seperate pieces- a 40cm length for the 'band', and two 22cm pieces to make the collar.

Next, attach the clasp to the end of the 40cm chain length with a jump ring...

... And place another jump ring 8cm from the opposite end (the extra will give you a little off- hanging piece of chain, which I think looks nice), like this:

Now, using a jump ring attach the end of one of your 22cm chain lengths 4cm in from the end of your necklace (not counting the off- hang on one end).

... Then repeat for the other end:

Now, it's time to join the two other ends of your collar together at the centre of your necklace. To do this, slide each end onto a jump ring, then slide the jump ring into the chain loop at the centre of your necklace, like this:

That's it- your necklace will now be fully wearable! Now all that's left to do is find a cute top to wear it with..
